? Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between barrier tape and floor marking tape?

Barrier tape (ATO 8020, ATZ R12, ATO 8120) is non-adhesive polyethylene tied between posts. Marking tape, such as the ATO 8200-RW, is PVC and sticks to floors or objects.

Which tape shows at night?

Only the reflective tapes: the red-white and yellow-black striped ones for obstacles, the honeycomb ones for vehicles and the ECE 104 ones for lorries and trailers.

Which tape do I use on a lorry?

For approved conspicuity marking, the ECE 104 class C tapes: the ATO 8413 (yellow), ATO 8414 (red, rear) and ATO 8415 (white, sides). The honeycomb tapes add extra visibility.

Can reflective tape go on asphalt?

No. The striped reflective tapes go on smooth, clean surfaces at +5 °C or above, and the honeycomb tapes at 10-30 °C on flat surfaces with no rivets.

How long are the rolls?

200 or 500 m for barrier tape, 30 m for PVC marking tape, 46 m for reflective tape and 15 or 25 m for anti-slip tape.

Legal guarantee of conformity

The official European Union notice on the legal guarantee of conformity for goods bought by consumers. It explains the rights the law gives you; it is not an additional guarantee offered by ATTO TRAFIC.

Official EU notice “Legal guarantee”: minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. The full text is available below.
Text of the notice

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
