Product description

Yellow-black plastic chain, 8 mm, by the metre

Yellow and black is the combination used for hazards and obstacles: the edge of a loading bay, a support column in an industrial hall, an area where a forklift works or a parking space that must stay free. The V1-80YB is an 8 mm plastic chain with yellow and black links alternating in sections.

By the metre

The price is per metre, and in the cart you choose how many metres you need. One metre weighs 0.1 kg. If you have a long area to close off, the V1-803 roll holds 25 m of 8 mm yellow-black chain.

Material

Polyethylene (PE): it does not rust, cleans with water and is light, so it hangs easily from posts, cones or rings fixed to a wall.

What it goes with

The yellow ATD 7580 steel bollard has 2 rings at the top for the chain, and together they make a barrier in matching colours. It also works with portable posts such as the ATZ 63315R2, or with cones fitted with the ATZ 101A hook. The ends are secured with the ATZ 330A hook.

Thinner version

The same colours come in a 6 mm version, the V1-60YB, also sold by the metre.

What the roadworks rules require (Order 1112/411/2000)

SR 1848-1:2024 provides the polyethylene garland or chain (V1) in built-up areas, to mark off works lengthwise. The methodological rules approved by Order MI/MT no. 1112/411/2000 require the contractor, among other things, to set up dedicated pedestrian corridors on the carriageway when the works take up the pavement. Marking off the work zone belongs to the signing that marks the works, installed after the advance signing.

The contractor installs the signing to the layout approved by the road authority with the traffic police's agreement, maintains and completes it for the whole job and removes it at the end; accidents caused by incomplete or missing temporary signing are entirely the contractor's responsibility.

? Frequently asked questions

Where is the 8 mm yellow-black chain used?

Yellow and black marks hazards and obstacles: the edge of a loading bay, a support column in an industrial hall, an area where a forklift works or a parking space that must stay free.

How do I order chain by the metre?

It is sold by the metre, and in the cart you choose how many metres you need. One metre weighs 0.1 kg.

What should I choose for a long area?

The V1-803 roll holds 25 m of 8 mm yellow-black chain in one continuous length.

Does the chain rust?

No, it is polyethylene (PE): it does not rust, cleans with water and is light, so it hangs easily from posts, cones or rings fixed to a wall.

How do I secure the ends of the chain?

With the ATZ 330A hook. On cones, the chain hangs from a hook fitted into the tip of the cone.

Is there a thinner version?

Who is responsible for the work-zone signing?

The contractor. Under Order MI/MT no. 1112/411/2000, the contractor installs the signing to the layout approved by the road authority with the traffic police's agreement, keeps a copy of the approval and the layout at the work site, maintains and completes the signing for the whole job and removes it at the end. Accidents caused by incomplete or missing temporary signing are entirely the contractor's responsibility.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
