Guidance posts
A guidance post is installed at the nose of a traffic island or lane separator, or in front of an obstacle in the carriageway. The panel at the top carries the blue keep-right sign, with diagonal yellow-black stripes below that mark the obstacle. Drivers see from a distance which way to pass.
Models
- ATO 2185 – 85 cm, orange, Ø20 cm round base, 3 fixing points;
- ATO 2186 – 85 cm, black, Ø20 cm round base, 3 fixing points;
- ATO 2196 – 90 cm, black, with a flexible bellows and a 20 x 15 cm rectangular base, 4 fixing points.
All weigh 2.2 kg.
Material
The posts are made of TPU, flexible and weather-resistant. When a wheel or wing mirror knocks it, the post bends instead of breaking. On the ATO 2196, the part that bends is the bellows below the panel.
Visibility
The ATO 2185 and ATO 2186 have two types of reflective finish, honeycomb and metallised, on the panel and the post, so the sign shows up at night in the headlights.
Installation
The base is fixed into asphalt with the anchors and bolts included: 3 on the 85 cm models and 4 on the ATO 2196.
How to choose
The orange ATO 2185 stands out on grey asphalt, while the black ATO 2186 has yellow reflective bands on the post. The ATO 2196 is taller, has the bellows under the panel and is fixed at 4 points instead of 3.
