Plastic barriers that stay where you put them
A light barrier is easy to carry, but the first gust of wind or a passing lorry moves it. The two barriers in this category solve that in different ways: one you fill with water on site, the other is heavy from the start.
The two models
- ATO 7700 – LDPE barrier, 120 x 50 x 50 cm, 10 kg empty, holding 100 l of water, in red and white. It stands on two feet with an opening in the middle and has a side connector for the next barrier.
- ATE 12520-W – white PPC and PVC barrier, 100 x 40 x 60 cm, 20 kg thanks to its hard plastic base, with a red and white chequered reflective band. It is not filled; you set it down and it is ready. The barriers stack one on top of another.
Which one to choose
The ATO 7700 is lighter to carry empty and much heavier once filled, so it suits closures that stay in place for several days: a lane, an entrance, the edge of a work area vehicles must not enter. The ATE 12520-W is the choice when the work moves often, when there is no water at hand, or in winter, when water in a barrier can freeze.
Red and white, alternated
A line of alternating red and white barriers is easier to see at night than a single colour, which is why the ATO 7700 comes in both.
Order of setting up
With the ATO 7700, place the barriers empty in a line, link them together and only then fill them. Once full, a barrier is no longer easy to move, so it pays to check the position first.
