Additional panels
The additional panels in group P of SR 1848-1:2024 complete the sign above: they show over what distance it applies, to which vehicles, under what conditions or with what exemptions. Here you will find the panels for the zone of stopping and parking bans, the P9 to P12, the vehicle categories P5 and P14, the exemptions P18, P34 and P35, the priority road direction P20 and P21, the weather panels P27 and P29 and the parking modes P36 and P37.
Most are white panels with a black border and a black symbol or text. On motorways they have a green background, and under tourist signs a brown one.
How they are made
They are made of 1 mm galvanised steel sheet with rounded corners and pressed edges, electrostatically painted with UV-resistant paint, with class I retroreflective sheeting and a 7-year service life. The small 45 x 20 and 15 x 30 cm panels weigh 0.5 kg and come with one clamp and 2 bolts with nuts; the 60 x 60 cm ones come with 2 clamps and 4 bolts. The clamps fit Ø48 mm posts, and Ø60 mm clamps are available on request. They are CE marked and comply with SR EN 12899-1:2007, SR 1848-1:2024, SR 1848-2:2011 and SR 1848-3:2011.
Where they go
An additional panel always goes under the sign it completes, on the same post. The exceptions are the P13 (disabled persons) and the P17 for people with small children, which may stand alone next to reserved parking spaces. Where technically possible, the P9, P10 and P11 symbols can be included in the main sign itself.
