Directional beacons for road works, diversions and the road edge

A directional beacon shows the driver where to go: the yellow and red stripes slanting left or right indicate the side on which to pass the obstacle. On a site they are placed in a row, and at night the reflective film makes them visible in the headlights. We have 21 products, grouped by how they are used.

Flexible beacons on their own base

They stand on a plastic base that comes with them, are carried by a handle and are quick to move. There are three reflector sizes, from 20 x 48 to 25 x 100 cm, plus 60 x 60 cm panels with the Attention, keep right and keep left signs, which fold for transport. You will find them under flexible directional beacons.

Beacons on 15 or 28 kg bases

The 25 x 100 cm panel goes into a heavy PVC base that sits on the asphalt with no drilling. The 15 kg base is for town, the 28 kg base for open roads with wind and lorries. The panel comes in Class I or Class II film, and panels and bases are also sold separately. They are all under weighted directional beacons.

Beacons with lamps

For works left overnight, there are beacons with a flashing yellow lamp on a 6V battery (V7b-15, V7b-28) and sets with a solar lamp (ATS 15K-404, ATS 28K-404), each on a 15 or 28 kg base. More sets are under beacon sets.

Anti-glare beacons and guide posts

The 90 cm green HDPE anti-glare beacons are fitted on the barrier between the carriageways and block the headlights of oncoming traffic. The 130 cm fibreglass guide post marks the edge of the road, one every 50 m. They are under anti-glare beacons and guide posts.

Class I or Class II

The film class tells you how much of the headlight beam is returned to the driver. Class II film reflects more, so the beacon is seen from further away at night. For daytime work in town Class I is enough; on fast or unlit roads Class II is worth it.

What types of directional beacons do you sell?

How do I choose between a flexible beacon and one on a 15 or 28 kg base?

Flexible beacons weigh 7-12.5 kg including the base and are quick to move, so they suit short jobs and diversions in town. On open roads with wind and lorries, a beacon on a 28 kg base is more likely to stay upright.

What do Class I and Class II mean?

The class shows how well the film reflects headlights. Class II (HIP) film reflects more than Class I (EG), so the beacon is seen from further away at night.

Does the asphalt have to be drilled?

Not for site beacons. Flexible beacons stand on their own base and the 15 or 28 kg bases simply sit on the road. Only the anti-glare beacons are bolted to the barrier.
