Product description
Guide post for the edge of the road
On a country road with no edge line, at night or in fog, it is hard to tell where the asphalt ends. Guide posts on the verge, one every 50 m, draw the edge of the road in the headlights.
How it is made
It is a white fibreglass blade, 130 cm long, 10 cm wide and only 3 mm thick. It weighs 0.8 kg, so a crew can carry dozens at a time. The bottom end is pointed.
Reflective
It carries two Class I reflective films near the top. The white post is seen by day and the film picks up the headlights at night.
Where it is used
- unlit county and local roads;
- bends and embankments where the edge of the road is hard to see;
- access roads to farms, quarries or industrial sites;
- roads where snow covers the markings in winter.
Spacing
The posts go 50 m apart along the edge of the carriageway. For one kilometre of road, on one side, that is 20 posts.
