Parking Blockers: How They Help Protect Private and Commercial Spaces?

In today's busy world, proper management of parking spaces is a constant challenge for both homeowners and commercial property owners. Parking blockers have become an essential element to ensure that parking spots are used only by authorized individuals, preventing their abusive occupation.

What are parking blockers?

Parking blockers are physical devices, usually made of metal or other durable materials, designed to restrict unauthorized access to a parking space. They can be installed in public, private, or commercial parking areas to keep spaces available for those entitled to use them. Generally, parking blockers are mounted in the center of the parking space and are raised or lowered manually or automatically to allow vehicle access.

Types of Parking Blockers

Parking blockers are available in a variety of models and mechanisms, tailored to different needs and locations. Here are some of the most popular types of parking blockers:

  1. Manual blockers: These are manually operated by the user, using a key or a padlock to raise or lower them. They are a simple and effective solution for private parking spaces, such as those in front of homes or offices.

  2. Automatic blockers: More technologically advanced, these devices are controlled remotely, either via a remote control or a mobile app. They are ideal for commercial parking lots or properties where access needs to be frequently managed without manual intervention.

  3. Retractable blockers: These models retract completely into the ground when not in use, providing a more aesthetically pleasing appearance and eliminating the risk of vehicle damage.

  4. Mobile blockers: These are less common but useful in situations where relocation is necessary. For example, in temporary parking lots or special events where parking spaces are temporary and need to be managed flexibly.

Advantages of Using Parking Blockers

Parking blockers offer a range of benefits for both individual users and businesses or public administrations.

  1. Protection of personal space: Homeowners living in crowded areas often encounter the problem of parking spaces being occupied by other vehicles. A parking blocker ensures that your spot remains available, protecting your property rights.

  2. Efficient management of commercial parking: In commercial spaces, parking blockers help efficiently manage parking spots, reserving them for employees, customers, or visitors. This avoids congestion and maintains a steady flow of vehicles.

  3. Prevention of conflicts: In many cases, the lack of a parking management system can lead to conflicts between neighbors or between employees and customers. Parking blockers provide a clear and visible solution for allocating parking spaces.

  4. Increased property value: In urban areas where parking spaces are extremely valuable, parking blockers can add value to a property. The ability to offer a reserved parking spot increases the property's appeal to potential renters or buyers.

  5. Enhanced security: In certain areas, parking blockers can help prevent vehicle thefts. With controlled access to parking spaces, the risk of crime is significantly reduced.

Installation and maintenance of parking blockers

Another important aspect to consider is the correct installation and maintenance of parking blockers. Most blockers are easy to install and do not require complicated interventions, but it is essential that they are mounted properly to ensure their optimal functioning. Additionally, periodic maintenance, especially for automatic or retractable models, is crucial to avoid defects or wear over time.

Conclusion

Parking blockers represent a practical and effective solution for protecting parking spaces, whether for private or commercial parking. They ensure efficient access control, contributing to increased safety and better management of available spaces. Whether it is a manual or automatic model, these devices offer significant advantages in optimizing the use of parking spaces.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
