Road Markings: The Importance of Night Visibility and Weather Conditions

Road markings are essential for ensuring smooth and safe traffic, but to be effective, they must be visible and functional in all conditions. In this post, we will explore the importance of night visibility and adaptability to different weather conditions for road markings, and how the right product can make a difference.

Night Visibility: A Crucial Aspect

Road markings must be visible not only during the day but also at night. Without adequate visibility, drivers may be confused about directions or speed limits, which can lead to accidents.

Road Markings with Reflective Paint are an excellent solution for enhancing night visibility. These paints contain reflective particles that intensify light from vehicle headlights, making the markings visible and clearly defined even in total darkness.

Adaptability to Various Weather Conditions

Road markings are constantly exposed to variable weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. Therefore, it is essential that they are durable and maintain functionality regardless of the weather.

Thermoplastic Paint Markings are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. This paint melts at high temperatures and cools quickly, forming a durable and adhesive layer that resists wear and weather. Additionally, thermoplastic paint has good adhesion to asphalt, reducing the risk of premature fading of the markings.

Glass Bead Markings are also an excellent option. The reflective glass beads help improve visibility in rain and snow conditions, having the ability to reflect light from various angles, thus providing enhanced visibility.

Comparing Types of Markings

To choose the best type of marking for the specific needs of an area, it is important to compare the different options available. For example, reflective paint is ideal for urban areas where street lighting may affect visibility, while thermoplastic paint is more suitable for national roads and highways, due to its durability in heavy traffic and severe weather conditions.

In conclusion, selecting the right product from Road Markings not only enhances road safety but also ensures the durability and effectiveness of the markings in various traffic and weather conditions. It is essential to consider the product specifications and choose the solution that best fits your requirements.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
