Product description

Yellow thermoplastic for road markings, RAL 1023, 20 kg

Yellow is used for markings that must stand apart from the white ones: temporary markings at roadworks, no-stopping zones, bus stops. When they have to withstand heavy traffic for a long time, they are made in thermoplastic. The ATA 4120 is a yellow RAL 1023 thermoplastic that melts at 180-210 °C and is hot-applied by machine.

How it is applied

The material is heated in a melter and applied with a machine that has one gun for the thermoplastic and one for the glass beads. The layer is 2-3 mm, and humidity must be 80% at most. It sets by cooling in 2-4 minutes at 10 °C.

Consumption

A 2 mm layer takes 4 kg/m², and a 3 mm layer 6 kg/m². With 20 kg you cover about 5 m² at 2 mm. ATP AC90 beads are dropped on straight away, about 400 g/m².

Technical data
  • density 2.00 ± 0.1 g/ml;
  • softening point of at least 95 °C, so it does not soften on hot summer asphalt;
  • UV ageing class UV1;
  • no volatile compounds.
Other colours

White: the ATA 4020. Black, for contrast: the ATA 4520.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
