Glass beads for road markings, 850-125 AC90, 25 kg
At night, a white line without beads is just a paler patch in the headlights. With glass beads dropped onto the still-wet paint, headlight beams enter each bead and bounce back towards the driver, so the marking seems to glow. The ATP AC90 are 850-125 AC90 glass beads, supplied in a 25 kg bag.
What they are
- soda-lime glass, beads between 125 and 850 µm;

How they are used
They are dropped straight after the paint is applied, while the coat is still wet, by hand or with the bead gun of the marking machine. The beads sink partly into the paint and stay held once it dries. In tests on the ATP 1K-9016 paint, 400 g/m² of 850-125 beads on 600 g/m² of paint gave retroreflection class R5.
How far a bag goes
At 400 g/m², the 25 kg bag is enough for about 62 m² of marking.
