Product description

Two-component cycle lane paint, red, RAL 3020, 15 kg

On a cycle lane, red is used for the stretches you want to highlight, such as crossings where cyclists and cars meet. Those are also the hardest-worked areas, so the paint has to last. The ATP 2K-3020 is an MMA-based two-component cold plastic, solvent-free and with UV-resistant pigments. It is also used on other red surfaces with traffic: warning areas, coloured lanes, entrances to pedestrian zones.

Technical data
  • methacrylic resin, 99% solids, zero VOC;
  • density 1.8 kg/l, viscosity 110 KU at 25 °C;
  • flash point 21 °C;
  • 24-month shelf life in the sealed pail.
Curing

Once the catalyst is in, you have 20 minutes of working time at +5 °C (with 2% catalyst), 12 at +10 °C, 8 at +20 °C and 6 at +30 °C (with 1%). The marking cures in 55, 40, 30 and 20 minutes respectively, and the area stays closed until then.

Consumption and application

1.5-2 kg/m²: a 15 kg pail covers 7.5-10 m², or a 1 m wide lane crossing 7.5-10 m long. Tape off the area, pour the catalysed material and spread it with a rubber roller, preferably a disposable one. Do not thin it, and do not apply it over other paints, thermoplastic or tapes.

Grip

For a lane where riders brake, drop anti-skid material onto the fresh coat. A mix of anti-skid material and ATP AC90 glass beads gives both grip and retroreflection.

Safety

It is a professional, flammable product that can irritate the skin, eyes and airways. Work outdoors with gloves and safety glasses, and clean the tools with road marking thinner.

Other colours

Green for the lane: the ATP 2K-6024 (20 kg) and ATP 2K-6024/10 (10 kg). White, with premixed beads: the ATP 2K-9016.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
