Two-component cycle lane paint, green, RAL 6024, 20 kg
Traffic green RAL 6024 is the colour used for cycle lanes. But a cycle lane is not used only by bikes: cars cross it at junctions, driveways and car park entrances, and there a thin paint wears through in a few months. The ATP 2K-6024 is a two-component cold plastic based on methacrylic resin (MMA). It goes on as a thick coat with a roller and is made to last, even under heavy traffic.
How much lane per pail
Consumption is 1.5-2 kg/m², so the 20 kg covers 10-13 m². On a 1 m wide lane, that is 10-13 m of fully painted lane. For shorter stretches or repairs, the same paint comes in a 10 kg pail, the ATP 2K-6024/10.
How it goes onto the lane
Tape off the area. Stir the product with a mechanical stirrer, add the catalyst, 2% at +5 °C or 1% between +10 and +30 °C, and stir for at least another minute. Pour the material and spread it evenly with a rubber roller without breaking the film; the manufacturer recommends disposable rollers. Remove the tape before it fully cures. At +20 °C you have 8 minutes of working time, and the lane can reopen after about 30 minutes.
Surface preparation
The asphalt must be dry and clean, free from dust, oil, fuel, de-icing salt and old marking that no longer adheres. Do not apply it over other paints, thermoplastic or tapes. On new asphalt, wait 4-6 weeks. The surface must be between +5 and +30 °C, at least 5 °C above the dew point.
Grip and visibility
For grip under braking, drop anti-skid material onto the fresh coat. For night visibility, ATP AC90 glass beads, and for both, a mix of the two.
