Two-component cycle lane paint, white, RAL 9016, 15 kg
On a cycle lane, white draws the bicycle symbol, the arrows and the edge lines, and these need to be seen at night too. The ATP 2K-9016 is a two-component cold plastic based on methacrylic resin (MMA), solvent-free. Unlike the other colours, it has glass beads premixed in the product, so the marking is easy to see by day and at night, even in rain. It also suits other heavy-traffic markings where ordinary paint wears off fast.
Catalyst and working time
First stir the product with a mechanical stirrer, not with sticks or other tools, then add the catalyst and mix for at least one minute. The amount depends on the surface temperature: 2% at +5 °C, 1% between +10 and +30 °C. Too little catalyst, or catalyst that is poorly mixed, gives a marking that gets dirty easily and wears faster.
Consumption
1.5-2 kg/m², so a 15 kg pail covers 7.5-10 m² of symbols and lines.
Application
Tape off the outline of the symbol, pour the catalysed material and spread it evenly with a rubber roller, then remove the tape before it fully cures. Do not thin. The surface must be dry, clean and between +5 and +30 °C, and new asphalt should be left for 4-6 weeks. At +20 °C, the marking cures in about 30 minutes.
Grip and immediate retroreflection
For immediate retroreflection, the manufacturer recommends also dropping ATP AC90 beads onto it, and for grip under braking, anti-skid material.
Storage and safety
The white keeps for 6 months in the sealed pail at +5 to +30 °C, so it is best ordered close to the job. It is flammable, with a flash point of 21 °C, and contains under 3% volatile organic compounds. Work with gloves and safety glasses.
Other colours
