Product description

Anti-slip sports court paint, red, RAL 3020, 25 kg

A red tennis court recalls clay, but a hard asphalt surface is far easier to look after. The ATP S-3020 is a red RAL 3020 one-component acrylic paint that already contains 0.06-0.25 mm quartz aggregate, so the surface becomes slip-resistant without any other material dropped onto it. It complies with BS EN 1871.

Technical data
  • pure acrylic resin and UV-resistant pigments, class UV1;
  • density 1.40-1.60 kg/l, viscosity 90-110 KU at 25 °C;
  • 75% solids by weight, 59% by volume;
  • hiding power HP4, over 95%.
Consumption

At 1.67 m²/kg for a 400 µm wet film, a pail covers about 42 m². For a 10 cm wide line that is roughly 417 m, and for a 15 cm line roughly 277 m.

Drying

30 minutes at 10 °C, 25 minutes at 25 °C and just 5 minutes at 45 °C. Use the court once the paint is fully dry.

Preparation and application

The asphalt must be dry and clean, and new asphalt should be left for up to 28 days. No primer is needed on asphalt. Do not thin the paint: stir it mechanically and apply it by hand or by marking machine, at 5-45 °C and below 80% humidity. Clean the equipment straight away with solvent-based thinner.

Other colours

Green, the ATP S-6024, blue, the ATP S-5015, and white for lines, the ATP S-9016.

? Frequently asked questions

Why a painted red tennis court instead of clay?

A red court recalls clay, but a hard asphalt surface is far easier to look after. The ATP S-3020 is a red RAL 3020 acrylic paint for coating the court, with anti-skid quartz already in the mix.

Do I need to scatter sand on it to stop it being slippery?

No. The paint already contains 0.06-0.25 mm quartz aggregate, so the surface becomes slip-resistant without any other material dropped onto it.

How many square metres does a pail cover?

The spread rate is 1.67 m²/kg at a 400 µm wet film, so about 42 m² from a 25 kg pail. At 600 µm the spread rate drops to 1.11 m²/kg.

How long does it take to dry?

30 minutes at 10 °C, 25 minutes at 25 °C and 5 minutes at 45 °C. Use the court once the paint is fully dry.

Can I paint recently laid asphalt?

New asphalt should be left for up to 28 days. The surface must be dry and clean, at 5-45 °C, with humidity below 80%.

What do I paint the playing lines with?

With the white ATP S-9016. For a green or blue court there are the ATP S-6024 and the ATP S-5015.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
