Black tactile guidance tile, 40x40 cm
This is the same guidance tile as the ATZ 9005, in black RAL 9017. It is chosen where yellow would not stand out: on white or beige tiles, or on light-coloured stone. The contrast between tile and floor helps partially sighted people find the route.
Technical data
TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), 40 x 40 cm, 0.8 cm thick, 0.65 kg. The surface is non-slip, and the raised parallel ribs show the direction of travel to anyone walking with a white cane.
How many tiles you need
One tile covers 0.16 m², so 6.25 tiles fit in a square metre. A guidance route 40 cm wide and 15 m long takes 38 tiles (37.5, rounded up).
Installation
It is bonded with epoxy adhesive, bought separately. Lay the tiles one after another with the ribs in the same direction, so the line is continuous.
Where it is used
In the halls of public buildings, in stations and airports, at public transport stops and on pavements. For stopping points, also in black, there is the ATZ 9006-BK warning tile with domes.
