Product description

G36 Information Sign – Recommended 30 km/h Zone, 50x65 cm, Class I

The G36 recommends 30 km/h across a whole area: the blue square with 30 on a white panel, above the word ZONA. The speed is recommended, not compulsory.

When class I is used

Class I (RA1) sheeting returns 70 cd/(lx·m²) for white to the driver and has a 7-year service life, enough on roads where headlights are the only light: local, minor and private roads or quiet streets. In areas with street lighting, shop windows, advertising and dense urban traffic, however, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Where it goes, under SR 1848-1:2024

It goes at the entry to an area, other than a residential zone, where lower speeds are recommended for other reasons: narrow carriageways, junctions without visibility, frequent entries and exits of long, hard-to-manoeuvre vehicles from neighbouring properties.

Information signs generally have a blue background on ordinary roads and a green one on motorways, with a black symbol on a white field, and give useful information to road users.

Mounting and size

Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The bottom edge of the sign goes 1.50–2.50 m above the road or kerb, and the edge nearest the road 0.50–2.0 m from the road platform. The sign must be visible from at least 50 m in built-up areas and 100 m outside them.

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down; for it, ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.

The panel measures 50 x 65 cm.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does the G36 “Recommended 30 km/h Zone” sign go?

It goes at the entry to an area, other than a residential zone, where lower speeds are recommended for other reasons: narrow carriageways, junctions without visibility, frequent entries and exits of long, hard-to-manoeuvre vehicles from neighbouring properties.

Is the 30 km/h speed compulsory?

No. The G36 is an information sign and recommends the speed; a compulsory limit uses the C27 (speed limit).

How high is it mounted and which fixings come with it?

The bottom edge goes 1.50–2.50 m above the road or kerb, and the inner edge 0.50–2.0 m from the road platform. The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request.

When is class I sheeting used?

Where the sign does not compete with other lights: on roads and streets without strong lighting, on local, minor or private roads. In areas with many light sources (street lighting, shop windows, advertising), SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

How long does the reflective sheeting last?

The sheeting is class I (RA1), with a 7-year service life. Under SR 1848-2, during that time retroreflection stays at no less than 80% of the initial minimum value and the sheeting stays bonded over at least 95% of the surface.

Which post should I order?

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down, for which you ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.

Is the sign CE marked?

Yes. It is CE marked and complies with SR EN 12899-1:2007, the European standard for vertical road signs, and with SR 1848-1:2024, SR 1848-2:2011 and SR 1848-3:2011. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.

Text of the notice

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
