Product description

G14 Information Sign – Bus Stop, 50x65 cm, Class II

The sign that marks the start of a bus stop, with class II prismatic sheeting. It is the choice for stops on national roads and lit town main streets, where both the bus driver and other road users must see it from a distance.

Why class II

Class II (RA2) prismatic sheeting returns roughly three to four times more headlight to the driver than class I sheeting, so the sign can be seen from further away at night and stays legible when viewed at an angle. SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting in areas with many light sources, such as streets with public lighting, shop windows and advertising, where a class I sign gets lost in the background. Class II sheeting has a guaranteed 10-year service life, against 7 years for class I.

Where it goes, under SR 1848-1:2024

It goes at the start of the public transport stop area, in the direction of travel. At the other end of the stop, the transport operator installs a panel with its logo, the lines serving the stop and their frequency, with a shape, size and colours approved in advance by the road authority and the traffic police.

As a general rule, information signs go in the area of the place they point out. If the place needs to be announced in advance, an identical sign is used, at least 50 m before it in built-up areas and at least 150 m before it outside them, with the distance written at the bottom or on the P1 additional panel.

Mounting and size

Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The bottom edge of the sign goes 1.50–2.50 m above the road or kerb, and the edge nearest the road 0.50–2.0 m from the road platform.

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down; for it, ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.

SR 1848-2 sets a single size for this sign, with a 50x65 cm size; the class I sheeting version, the same size, is the G14.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does it go?

It goes at the start of the public transport stop area, in the direction of travel. At the other end of the stop, the transport operator installs a panel with its logo, the lines serving the stop and their frequency, with a shape, size and colours approved in advance by the road authority and the traffic police.

How does it differ from the class I sheeting version?

It is the same size as the G14, but with class II (RA2) prismatic sheeting, which returns three to four times more light and has a guaranteed 10-year service life instead of 7.

When is class II sheeting mandatory?

SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting in areas with many light sources: street lighting, shop windows, advertising, dense urban areas. Elsewhere, class II is chosen for better visibility on fast roads and where the sign is seen at an angle.

Which fixings come with it?

The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts. Clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request, a better fit for windy locations.

Who installs the bus stop sign?

SR 1848-1:2024 makes bus and tram stop signs the responsibility of local councils inside built-up areas and county councils outside them, whatever the road category, with the approval of the road authority and the traffic police.

Does it need to be announced in advance?

If needed, yes: with an identical sign, at least 50 m before in built-up areas and at least 150 m before outside them, with the distance written at the bottom or on the P1 additional panel.

Is the sign CE marked?

Yes. It is CE marked and complies with SR EN 12899-1:2007, the European standard for vertical road signs, and with SR 1848-1:2024, SR 1848-2:2011 and SR 1848-3:2011. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.

Legal guarantee of conformity

The official European Union notice on the legal guarantee of conformity for goods bought by consumers. It explains the rights the law gives you; it is not an additional guarantee offered by ATTO TRAFIC.

Official EU notice “Legal guarantee”: minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. The full text is available below.
Text of the notice

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
