G4 Information Sign – One-Way Road, 60x60 cm, Class II
The white arrow on a blue background that marks the start of a one-way street, with class II prismatic sheeting. On town-centre streets with lit shop windows and advertising, this is the sheeting type SR 1848-2 requires in areas with many light sources.
Why class II
Class II means RA2 prismatic sheeting, which sends back three to four times more light than class I sheeting. It matters on fast roads and wherever the sign is seen at an angle, and in areas with street lighting, shop windows and advertising SR 1848-2 explicitly requires it, alongside class 3. The sheeting has a guaranteed 10-year service life.
Where it goes, under SR 1848-1:2024
It goes at the start of a one-way road section, and the C1 (No entry; in class II: the C1_II) goes at the far end of the section. Both signs are repeated after every junction on the one-way road. If the one-way road continues into a two-way section, the A30 (Two-way traffic) goes at the start of that section.

Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The bottom edge of the sign goes 1.50–2.50 m above the road or kerb, and the edge nearest the road 0.50–2.0 m from the road platform.
The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down; for it, ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.
SR 1848-2 sets a single size for this sign, with a 60 cm side; the class I sheeting version, the same size, is the G4.

Which fixings come with it?
The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts. Clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request, a better fit for windy locations.
What is the difference from the G5 (One-way road)?
The G4 goes at the start of the one-way road, facing drivers entering it. The G5 is a long rectangular panel mounted at the junction, parallel to the one-way road, on the side opposite the road that joins it, to show drivers arriving at the junction which way traffic flows.
Is the sign CE marked?
Yes. It is CE marked and complies with SR EN 12899-1:2007, the European standard for vertical road signs, and with SR 1848-1:2024, SR 1848-2:2011 and SR 1848-3:2011. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.
