The Ø80 cm disc that prohibits turning right, with class II prismatic sheeting. The large format is the one required on national roads, and the sheeting keeps it visible at lit town junctions, where it competes with traffic lights and advertising.
Class II means RA2 prismatic sheeting, which sends back three to four times more light than class I sheeting. It matters on fast roads and wherever the sign is seen at an angle, and in areas with street lighting, shop windows and advertising SR 1848-2 explicitly requires it, alongside class 3. The sheeting has a guaranteed 10-year service life.
It goes before or level with the junction where turning right is prohibited, and the prohibition applies only at that junction, not at the following ones. The sign can also be mounted above a lane, in which case the prohibition applies only to that lane.
Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The bottom edge of the sign goes 1.50–2.50 m above the road or kerb, and the edge nearest the road 0.50–2.0 m from the road platform.
The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down; for it, ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.
The 80 cm diameter is the large format in SR 1848-2, required on national roads; motorways use the very large 100 cm format. County and local roads, streets and private roads open to public traffic only need the normal Ø60 cm format: the class I sheeting version is the C23.

It is larger than the C23: Ø80 cm instead of Ø60 cm, and the class II (RA2) prismatic sheeting returns three to four times more light, with a guaranteed 10-year service life instead of 7.
No. SR 1848-2 forbids using signs smaller than the format set for the road's category. National roads require the large Ø80 cm format, and motorways the very large Ø100 cm format.
SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting in areas with many light sources: street lighting, shop windows, advertising, dense urban areas. Elsewhere, class II is chosen for better visibility on fast roads and where the sign is seen at an angle.
The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts. Clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request, a better fit for large signs or windy locations.
Only at the junction before or at which the sign is installed. At the next junction, the prohibition no longer applies unless the sign is repeated.
