Product description

V10 Directional Barrier Board, 200x33 cm, Class I

The 200x33 cm chevron board that closes the lane across at the ends of the works and shows which way to pass, with class I retroreflective sheeting.

When class I is used

Class I means RA1 retroreflective sheeting, with 70 cd/(lx·m²) for white, suited to roads with low and medium speeds and few light sources. In areas with street lighting, shop windows and advertising, however, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting, and on a section already signed in class II the temporary sign cannot have a lower class either. For national roads, lit boulevards or sections signed in class II there is the V10_II version.

Where it goes, under SR 1848-1:2024

It goes across the road, marking the start and end of the works, with the chevrons pointing to the side traffic passes on. SR 1848-1:2024 states that the fixing and positioning system shown is for information only, and SR 1848-2 sets the board at 1.0 m above the ground.

What the roadworks rules require (Order 1112/411/2000)

The barrier board belongs to the signing that marks the works, together with markers and cones, installed after the advance signing. The rules require simple and directional barrier boards to carry yellow-red retroreflective sheeting even where the existing signing is not retroreflective; in that case, the lengthwise edge of the work zone is also marked with steady or flashing amber lamps, such as the V8-Y and V8-YS.

On public roads, works are signed under the methodological rules approved by Order MI/MT no. 1112/411/2000. The road closure or traffic restriction is approved by the road authority, with the traffic police's agreement, on the basis of a signing layout endorsed as final, a copy of which the contractor keeps at the work site. The contractor installs, completes and maintains the signing for the whole job, removes it at the end and restores the original signing; accidents caused by incomplete or missing temporary signing are entirely the contractor's responsibility.

At night, if the existing signing on the road is retroreflective, the temporary signing must be retroreflective too and can be supplemented with flashing or sequential (“cascade”) amber lamps; on main and connecting streets in towns, retroreflective temporary signs are supplemented with flashing amber lamps.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does it go?

It goes across the road, marking the start and end of the works, with the chevrons pointing to the side traffic passes on. SR 1848-1:2024 states that the fixing and positioning system shown is for information only, and SR 1848-2 sets the board at 1.0 m above the ground.

What do the rules require for barrier boards at night?

Simple and directional barrier boards must carry yellow-red retroreflective sheeting, even where the existing signing is not retroreflective. In that case, the lengthwise edge of the work zone is also marked with steady or flashing amber lamps.

How does it differ from the class II version?

It is the same size as the V10_II; the sheeting differs: class II (RA2) prismatic sheeting returns three to four times more light and has a 10-year service life, against 7 years for class I.

When can class I sheeting be used for roadworks?

Where the permanent signing on the section is class I too and there are few light sources. SR 1848-2 requires temporary signs to have at least the class of the existing signing, and in areas with street lighting, shop windows or advertising it requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Which fixings come with it?

The pack holds 4 clamps and 8 bolts with nuts.

What is the difference from the V9 barrier board?

The V9, with straight blocks, marks the works lengthwise, along the road. The directional board goes across the road, at the start and end of the works, and its chevrons also show the direction to pass.

Who is responsible for the work-zone signing?

The contractor. Under Order MI/MT no. 1112/411/2000, the contractor installs the signing to the layout approved by the road authority with the traffic police's agreement, keeps a copy of the approval and the layout at the work site, maintains and completes the signing for the whole job and removes it at the end. Accidents caused by incomplete or missing temporary signing are entirely the contractor's responsibility.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
