Placement of the "B2 - Stop" sign according to STAS-1848-1:2024
On public roads/bicycle paths without priority, at intersections of roads that do not have ensured visibility, or at the intersection between the bicycle path/road and the roadway, as close as possible to the edge of the priority road platform, so that stopping vehicles do not hinder pedestrian crossing.
It is also installed at intersections with a railway without barriers, other than industrial ones.
This sign can be pre-signaled by a similar sign, accompanied by an additional panel figure P4 – Distance between the sign and the beginning of the dangerous place, on which the distance to the edge of the intersected road is inscribed, expressed in meters.

Stop – Road Safety at Another Level
In traffic, safety and control are essential for preventing accidents and maintaining an orderly traffic flow.
Stop is a crucial element in any road signaling system, serving to ensure compliance with priority rules and prevent collisions. Whether we are talking about busy intersections, roads near schools, or residential areas,
Stop plays a fundamental role in reducing the risks of road accidents.
Why choose Stop?
-
Increased safety
The Stop sign provides a clear reference point for drivers, signaling them that they must stop before crossing an intersection or a dangerous area. This prevents collisions and contributes to the protection of pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users.
-
Increased visibility
With a distinctive red color and a clearly defined design, the Stop sign is easily noticeable from a distance, even in low light conditions. Thus, drivers have enough time to react and stop safely.
-
Durability and resistance
The Stop sign is made from high-quality materials that ensure increased resistance to wear, extreme weather conditions, and heavy traffic. Thus, the sign will remain effective for a long time without requiring frequent maintenance.
-
Facilitates traffic control
The Stop sign helps manage traffic flow in intersection areas or on busy roads, reducing the risk of accidents and improving circulation.
-
Easy to install and maintain
The Stop sign can be quickly installed at intersections and roads that require traffic flow control. Additionally, maintenance is minimal, with the sign maintaining its effectiveness and visibility for a long time.
Where can Stop (60 cm - CLASS I), Priority signs (B) be used?
- Busy intersections: to regulate traffic and prevent accidents between vehicles coming from different directions.
- Near schools and residential areas: to ensure the safety of children and other pedestrians crossing the roads.
- High traffic areas: near parks, shopping centers, or other places frequented by people, where it is necessary for vehicles to stop to allow pedestrian movement.
- Dangerous roads: in areas where visibility is reduced or where there are higher risks of accidents.
Advantages of using Stop (60 cm - CLASS I), Priority signs (B)
- Increased safety: reduces the risks of accidents and contributes to the protection of road users.
- Clear visibility: the strong red sign ensures optimal visibility, even at night or in adverse weather conditions.
- Resistance to extreme weather conditions: high-quality materials make the Stop sign effective in the long term.
- Compliance with legal regulations: adheres to road signaling standards, contributing to compliance with current legislation.
- Reduction of accidents: by clearly signaling where vehicles must stop, collisions between vehicles and pedestrians are avoided.
