PVC traffic cone with weighted base, 70 cm
The V6-70AR2 is the 70 cm cone for jobs that last. Its hexagonal weighted base is 48 x 48 cm and the whole cone weighs 5 kg, so it stays put in wind, next to heavy traffic or on a sloping road.
Material
The body is orange PVC, flexible and weather-resistant. If it is hit, it bends, and the heavy base holds it in position.
Visibility
2 white honeycomb reflective bands, visible in the headlights. At 71.3 cm the cone can be seen over car bonnets.

The cone without a heavy base, the V6-70R2, is the same height but has a 38 cm base and weighs 2.3 kg. It is easier to carry but less stable. In the economy PE version, the weighted-base cone is the V6-70AR2E.
What the roadworks rules require (Order 1112/411/2000)
SR 1848-1:2024 provides the traffic cone (V6) to protect freshly applied markings, to mark off small works and to sign police crews at accident scenes. In a work-zone signing layout, cones belong to the signing that marks the works, together with barrier boards and markers, installed after the advance signing. The methodological rules approved by Order MI/MT no. 1112/411/2000 require temporary signing to be retroreflective at night wherever the existing signing is. Compared with the 2011 edition, SR 1848-1:2024 specifies orange instead of red for the V6 cone, and this cone is orange.
The contractor installs the signing to the layout approved by the road authority with the traffic police's agreement, maintains and completes it for the whole job and removes it at the end; accidents caused by incomplete or missing temporary signing are entirely the contractor's responsibility.
