Product description

Forest Road Name Sign, 90x50 cm, Class I

The forest road name sign goes at the entrance to the road and shows its name: a 90 x 50 cm blue panel with a 15 mm white border, DRUM FORESTIER (forest road) on the first line and the road's name on the second, both in white.

Where it goes

Under normative ID-001-15, it stands 15–30 m into the forest road, on the right-hand side, where the road joins a public road. It is used only on roads with no through exit. On roads closed to public traffic, the “Public traffic prohibited” sign goes below it on the same post, with the road number plate above.

Size and text

The text follows the Annex VII drawing: DRUM FORESTIER in 100 mm letters and the name in 120 mm letters. The name is written in full, without abbreviations and with diacritics, as the normative requires; the SR 1848-3 narrow letters are squeezed as much as needed for the name to fit at the normative's height. The pictures show the normative's example, “Valea Corbului”; you send the name of your road after ordering.

When class I is used

Class I (RA1) sheeting returns 70 cd/(lx·m²) for white to the driver and has a 7-year service life, enough on roads where headlights are the only light, such as forest roads. In areas with street lighting, shop windows, advertising and dense urban traffic, however, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does the forest road name sign go?

Under normative ID-001-15, it stands 15–30 m into the forest road, on the right-hand side, where the road joins a public road. It is used only on roads with no through exit. On roads closed to public traffic, the “Public traffic prohibited” sign goes below it on the same post, with the road number plate above.

Is it part of SR 1848-1:2024?

No. SR 1848-1:2024 has no such sign. It is sign no. 1 of Annex VII of the forest road normative ID-001-15, approved by Order 482/2015.

How do I send the road's name?

After you place the order, send us the road's exact name, with diacritics. We write it in full, without abbreviations, in 120 mm letters, squeezed as much as needed to fit the 90 cm panel.

Which fixings come with it?

The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The post is ordered separately.

When is class I sheeting used?

Where the sign does not compete with other lights, such as forest roads and other unlit roads. In areas with many light sources (street lighting, shop windows, advertising), SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Which post should I order?

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. The normative asks for the sign to be clearly visible from 1.50–1.70 m and, when several signs share a post, for the lowest to be at least 1.20 m above the ground.

Is the sign CE marked?

Yes. It is CE marked, and the sheet, sheeting and construction meet SR EN 12899-1:2007 and SR 1848-2:2011, as for the standard road signs. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.

The official European Union notice on the legal guarantee of conformity for goods bought by consumers. It explains the rights the law gives you; it is not an additional guarantee offered by ATTO TRAFIC.

Text of the notice

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
