Product description

Forest Road Junction Advance Sign, 75x50 cm, Class I

The advance direction sign for major junctions announces a forest road junction in good time: a 75 x 50 cm blue panel with a white border, with the roads' arrows drawn in white and their names written beside them.

Where it goes

Under normative ID-001-15, it stands on the right-hand side of the forest road, 50 m before major junctions: where a category I road meets a category II road, that is, at order-2 branches.

Size and text

The arrows are drawn to match the real junction: the angles between them follow the roads, and the line thickness shows how important each road is; where the roads are of the same category, the lines are equally thick. In the normative's example, the main road has a 50 mm line with an 80 mm head and the branch a 35 mm line. The letters show importance too: 100 mm for the main road, 60 mm for the branch. The pictures show the normative's example, Sturu and V. Seacă; you send the names and a sketch of the junction after ordering.

When class I is used

Class I (RA1) sheeting returns 70 cd/(lx·m²) for white to the driver and has a 7-year service life, enough on roads where headlights are the only light, such as forest roads. In areas with street lighting, shop windows, advertising and dense urban traffic, however, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does the junction advance sign go?

Under normative ID-001-15, it stands on the right-hand side of the forest road, 50 m before major junctions: where a category I road meets a category II road, that is, at order-2 branches.

Is it part of SR 1848-1:2024?

No. SR 1848-1:2024 has no such sign. It is sign no. 2 of Annex VII of the forest road normative ID-001-15, approved by Order 482/2015.

What do I need to send for the sign?

The roads' names, with diacritics, and a sketch or photo of the junction, so we can draw the arrows at the real angles. The more important road gets the thicker line and the larger letters.

Which fixings come with it?

The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The post is ordered separately.

When is class I sheeting used?

Where the sign does not compete with other lights, such as forest roads and other unlit roads. In areas with many light sources (street lighting, shop windows, advertising), SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Which post should I order?

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. The normative asks for the sign to be clearly visible from 1.50–1.70 m and, when several signs share a post, for the lowest to be at least 1.20 m above the ground.

Is the sign CE marked?

Yes. It is CE marked, and the sheet, sheeting and construction meet SR EN 12899-1:2007 and SR 1848-2:2011, as for the standard road signs. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.

Text of the notice

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
