Product description

Forest Road Number Plate, 54x48 cm, Class I

The forest road number plate shows the road's order number: a 54 x 48 cm white panel with the number in a black-bordered box, for example D9, and below it a line with kilometres, as in the normative's example, 12 km.

Where it goes

Under normative ID-001-15, it goes on the same post as the forest road name sign or the junction direction sign, above them, as in the grouping of Annex VIII. It identifies the forest road's order number.

Size and text

The normative gives no dimensions for this plate, so it is drawn after the Annex VII example: the road number in a 300 x 150 mm box with a black border, with 100 mm letters and figures, and the kilometre line below, also in 100 mm characters. You send the number and the kilometre line after ordering.

When class I is used

Class I (RA1) sheeting returns 70 cd/(lx·m²) for white to the driver and has a 7-year service life, enough on roads where headlights are the only light, such as forest roads. In areas with street lighting, shop windows, advertising and dense urban traffic, however, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Mounting

It is sign no. 5 of Annex VII of the forest road maintenance and repair normative ID-001-15, approved by Order 482/2015. Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request.

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. The normative asks for the sign to be clearly visible from 1.50–1.70 m and, when several signs share a post, for the lowest to be at least 1.20 m above the ground.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does the forest road number plate go?

Under normative ID-001-15, it goes on the same post as the forest road name sign or the junction direction sign, above them, as in the grouping of Annex VIII. It identifies the forest road's order number.

Is it part of SR 1848-1:2024?

No. SR 1848-1:2024 has no such sign. It is sign no. 5 of Annex VII of the forest road normative ID-001-15, approved by Order 482/2015.

What goes on the plate?

The forest road's order number, for example D9 or D14, and a line with kilometres, as in the normative's examples (12 km, 5.7 km). You send the text after ordering.

Which fixings come with it?

The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The post is ordered separately.

When is class I sheeting used?

Where the sign does not compete with other lights, such as forest roads and other unlit roads. In areas with many light sources (street lighting, shop windows, advertising), SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Which post should I order?

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. The normative asks for the sign to be clearly visible from 1.50–1.70 m and, when several signs share a post, for the lowest to be at least 1.20 m above the ground.

Is the sign CE marked?

Yes. It is CE marked, and the sheet, sheeting and construction meet SR EN 12899-1:2007 and SR 1848-2:2011, as for the standard road signs. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.

The official European Union notice on the legal guarantee of conformity for goods bought by consumers. It explains the rights the law gives you; it is not an additional guarantee offered by ATTO TRAFIC.

Text of the notice

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
