Forest Road Junction Direction Sign, 103x30 cm, Class I

The junction direction sign shows the direction and name of the forest road leaving a junction: a 103 x 30 cm blue arrow-shaped panel with a white border, DRUM FORESTIER on the first line and the road's name on the second.

Where it goes

Under normative ID-001-15, it stands right at the junction of two forest roads inside the network. It is used at every order-2 and order-3 branch, to show both the branch and the road's name, except on link roads. The road number plate can go above it.

Size and text

The panel has an 830 mm body and a 200 mm point, with a 15 mm white border. DRUM FORESTIER is written in 60 mm letters and the name in 100 mm letters. The name is written in full, without abbreviations and with diacritics, as the normative requires; the SR 1848-3 narrow letters are squeezed as much as needed for the name to fit at the normative's height. The pictures show the normative's example, “Valea Bradului”; you send the name and the arrow's direction after ordering.

When class I is used

Class I (RA1) sheeting returns 70 cd/(lx·m²) for white to the driver and has a 7-year service life, enough on roads where headlights are the only light, such as forest roads. In areas with street lighting, shop windows, advertising and dense urban traffic, however, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting.

Technical data

• 103 x 30 cm panel: blue arrow with a white border and the white words DRUM FORESTIER and the road's name;
• 1 mm galvanised steel sheet, with rounded corners and pressed edges, no sharp edges;
• electrostatically painted with UV-resistant paint;
• class I retroreflective sheeting (RA1), resistant to UV and weathering, with a 7-year service life;
• fixings included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts;
• CE marked; sheet, sheeting and construction to SR EN 12899-1:2007 and SR 1848-2:2011.

Mounting

It is sign no. 3 of Annex VII of the forest road maintenance and repair normative ID-001-15, approved by Order 482/2015. Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request.

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. The normative asks for the sign to be clearly visible from 1.50–1.70 m and, when several signs share a post, for the lowest to be at least 1.20 m above the ground.
