Product description

C35 Prohibition Sign – End of No Overtaking, Ø80 cm, Class II

The disc that ends a no-overtaking section, in the large Ø80 cm format with class II prismatic sheeting. It is installed as a pair with the sign at the start of the section and has the same size and sheeting, so drivers see just as clearly where the prohibition ends.

Why class II

The difference from class I shows at night: class II (RA2) prismatic sheeting returns three to four times more light, and the gap grows when the sign is mounted at the side, far from the centre of the road. On lit streets with shop windows and advertising, SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting. The standard guarantees a 10-year service life for class II sheeting, three years more than for class I.

Where it goes, under SR 1848-1:2024

It goes where the no-overtaking section ends, the section having been signed at its start with the C25 (No overtaking of motor vehicles, except solo motorcycles and mopeds; in class II: the C25_II) or with the C26 (No overtaking for goods vehicles).

Technical data
  • 80 cm diameter white disc with the two-car symbol in grey, crossed by a black diagonal band;
  • 1 mm galvanised steel sheet, with pressed edges, no sharp edges;
  • electrostatically painted with UV-resistant paint;
  • class II (RA2) prismatic retroreflective sheeting, resistant to UV and weathering, with a guaranteed 10-year service life;
  • fixings included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts;
  • CE marked; compliant with SR EN 12899-1:2007, SR 1848-1:2024, SR 1848-2:2011 and SR 1848-3:2011.
Mounting and size

Fixings for the post are included: 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts; clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request. The bottom edge of the sign goes 1.50–2.50 m above the road or kerb, and the edge nearest the road 0.50–2.0 m from the road platform.

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down; for it, ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.

The 80 cm diameter is the large format in SR 1848-2, required on national roads; motorways use the very large 100 cm format. County and local roads, streets and private roads open to public traffic only need the normal Ø60 cm format: the class I sheeting version is the C35.

? Frequently asked questions

Where does it go?

It goes where the no-overtaking section ends, the section having been signed at its start with the C25 (No overtaking of motor vehicles, except solo motorcycles and mopeds; in class II: the C25_II) or with the C26 (No overtaking for goods vehicles).

How does it differ from the class I sheeting version?

It is larger than the C35: Ø80 cm instead of Ø60 cm, and the class II (RA2) prismatic sheeting returns three to four times more light, with a guaranteed 10-year service life instead of 7.

Can I use the Ø60 cm version on a national road?

No. SR 1848-2 forbids using signs smaller than the format set for the road's category. National roads require the large Ø80 cm format, and motorways the very large Ø100 cm format.

When is class II sheeting mandatory?

SR 1848-2 requires prismatic class 2 or 3 sheeting in areas with many light sources: street lighting, shop windows, advertising, dense urban areas. Elsewhere, class II is chosen for better visibility on fast roads and where the sign is seen at an angle.

Which fixings come with it?

The pack holds 2 clamps for Ø48 mm posts and 4 bolts with nuts. Clamps for Ø60 mm posts are available on request, a better fit for large signs or windy locations.

How are the start and end of the prohibition signed?

The start of the section is marked with the C25_II and the end with the C35_II, both in the Ø80 cm format with class II sheeting, so the pair is equally visible at both ends.

Which post should I order?

The post is ordered separately. For a fixed installation in a concrete foundation: the galvanised Ø48 mm post, 300 cm. For temporary use, with no foundation: the Ø48 mm tripod post, 120 cm. On concrete or paving, where you cannot dig: the Ø60 mm flange post, 300 cm, bolted down, for which you ask for the Ø60 mm clamps when you order.

Is the sign CE marked?

Yes. It is CE marked and complies with SR EN 12899-1:2007, the European standard for vertical road signs, and with SR 1848-1:2024, SR 1848-2:2011 and SR 1848-3:2011. The sheeting and the paint resist UV and weathering.

Legal guarantee

Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union.

Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:

  • do not match the description;
  • do not function as intended.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:

  • free repair or free replacement;
  • in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.

Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code below or ask the seller. europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees

What to do if you receive non-conforming goods:

  1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue;
  2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement.

Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
